Are You A Coffee Lover?

Can You Drink Coffee During Fasting Period?

Yes, you can drink coffee during a fast, especially if you are having a coffee without sugar or milk. Coffee on its own is low in calories and will not have a negative impact on your fasting efforts.

Coffee in moderation may also have a positive effect on your mental alertness and concentration. Try to avoid consuming high doses of caffeine when you have limited food intake, this can contribute to feelings of anxiety, insomnia and potential gastrointestinal upsets.

You can drink a coffee during a fast because it's low in calories and sugar and would be very unlikely to break a fast. But be sure to only use black coffee.

Coffee and Chocolate Make You Smarter

Coffee and Chocolate Make You Smarter, According To The Latest Neuroscience

Neuroscience continues to reveal interesting facts about the positive effects of some of our favorite drinks and foods, such as the finding that coffee and (to a lesser extent) tea and chocolate tend to make brains healthier and more resilient.

According to a joint study from the National Institute on Aging and Johns Hopkins University, published last January in Neurochemical Research magazine, a methylxanthines-a class of chemical found in coffee, tea and dark chocolate (cacao) “has clear effects on neuronal network activity, promotes sustained cognitive performance and can protect neurons against dysfunction and death in animal models of stroke, Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.”

The study also revealed that xanthine metabolites--a chemical released when our brain processes caffeine, “may also contribute to the beneficial effects of coffee, tea, and cacao on brain health.”

Additionally, a meta-analysis of 11 studies(11 articles for coffee, 8 articles for tea, and 4 articles for coffee plus tea) on the effects of coffee on brain health, published in World Journal of Surgical Oncology, discovered that both coffee and tea (and thus, by extension, cacao) can decrease the brain cancer risk.

Researchers discovered a statistically significant protective effect of coffee consumption and brain cancer risk, especially in Asian populations. Yet, the link between the risk of brain cancer and tea consumption was non-significant in the whole result, but significant in American populations.

Findings suggest that higher consumption of coffee may contribute to the lower development of brain cancer in Asian populations. Tea consumption had an inverse association for the brain cancer risk in American populations, instead of other populations.

Finally, a groundbreaking study at Okayama University showed that intake of coffee components, CA and CGA, improved the antioxidative properties of glial cells and prevented rotenone-induced neurodegeneration in both, the brain and myenteric plexus. In layman’s terms, caffeine makes the brain more resilient and flexible.

Several studies also demonstrate the brain-boosting powers of dark chocolate, including enhanced cognitive function, lower dementia risk, and improved performance on memory activities.

One review study found that epicatechin, a flavanol found in cocoa, tea, berries, and other fruits, yields cognitive benefits—especially in tasks involving memory, executive function, and processing speed in older adults.

Therefore, to keep your brain healthy as you age, you should be consuming coffee, tea, or cacao.

According to studies, the ideal daily dosage of coffee is about six to eight 8oz cups, ideally consumed before 2 pm in order not to affect the night sleep. Yet, this might sound too much for many, so you can replace a cup or two with an ounce of dark chocolate, and still boost your brain.

This is fantastic news, isn’t it?

DRINK LINGZHI COFFEE & SLEEP MORE SOUNDLY!

There are plenty of foods and drinks that most of us should consume less. But you shouldn’t worry about your coffee habit – here’s why.
  1. Liver. A review that combined the results of nine studies found that drinking more coffee is associated with lower risk of cirrhosis. In the review, drinking one cup of coffee per day was shown to be linked with a 22% reduced risk for cirrhosis, a liver disease that is often caused by heavy alcohol consumption. Two daily cups were associated with a 43% reduced risk, three cups with 57% reduced risk, and four cups with 65% reduced risk.
  2. Heart Disease. A review of more than 200 studies found that people who drank three or four cups of coffee per day were 19% less likely to die from cardiovascular disease.
  3. Type 2 Diabetes. One large review of studies found that every additional cup of coffee a person drinks per day was correlated with a 7% reduced risk for developing Type 2 diabetes.
  4. Cancer. One review found that heavy coffee drinkers (who had at least three cups per day) had an 18% reduced risk for cancer. Another review found that at least one cup per day was associated with 15% reduced risk for liver cancer and an 8% reduced risk for endometrial cancer. Some data indicates that coffee drinkers may be less likely to suffer from oral/pharyngeal cancer and advanced prostate cancer as well.
  5. Alzheimers Disease and Dementia. A meta-analysis of studies about coffee intake and brain health calculated that regular coffee drinkers were approximately 16% less likely to suffer from Alzheimer’s, dementia, or cognitive decline. There are smaller studies that suggest drinking coffee can lead to even bigger reductions in one’s risk for Alzheimer’s as well.
  6. Depression. One large study of more than 50,000 women showed that drinking at least one cup of coffee each week was associated with 15% reduced risk for depression. Drinking two to three cups per day was associated with 20% reduced risk. Another study that looked at more than 100,000 men and women found that coffee drinkers were 45% less likely to die from suicide. Those results suggested that heavy coffee drinkers (those who had four or more cups per day) were 53% less likely to die from suicide. Sources: JAMA Internal Medicine, The World Journal of Biological Psychiatry
  7. Overall Mortality. A large study of more than 500,000 European people found that in a 16-year period, men who drank three or more cups per day were 12% less likely to die, and women who did the same were 7% less likely to die. Other studies agree.
In particular, coffee drinkers were less likely to die from circulatory and digestive diseases. People who drank a lot of coffee also had healthier livers.

Another study of 185,855 multi-ethnic Americans confirmed these results. People who drank one cup per day were 12% less likely to die. A coffee intake of two to three cups was associated with an 18% decrease in risk for early death. Lalo na kong ang coffee mo ay Healthy Coffee like DXN Linzhi Coffee.

The Institute for Scientific Information on Coffee, a group funded by coffee companies, recently highlighted a number of independent peer-reviewed scientific studies on coffee in a report. That evidence all pointed to a lower mortality risk for frequent coffee drinkers.

Studies indicate that even people who drink lots of coffee see these benefits.

A study published in the August issue of the journal JAMA Internal Medicine followed 500,000 people in the UK for 10 years, and found that those who drank two to five cups of coffee in a day were about 12% less likely to die than non-coffee-drinkers.

People who drank six to seven cups were 16% less likely to die, and people who drank eight or more cups were about 14% less likely to die.

That study also confirmed that people whose genetics make them slow to process caffeine still get the same benefits.

Drinking Lingzhi Coffee A Day Diabetes Take Away

Drinking up to four cups of coffee a day can cut the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure, new research claims

Scientists say drinking three to four cups of coffee a day is associated with around a 25 per cent lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure
  • Scientists claim to have found a link between coffee and metabolic syndrome
  • Researchers say drinking one to four cups a day can still have health benefits
  • It reduces risk of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and even heart disease
  • Drinking three to four cups a day linked with around a 25 per cent lower risk
Coffee can cut the chances of developing type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and even heart disease, a new study has claimed.

Drinking as many as four cups of coffee a day can significantly reduce the likelihood of getting hypertension and diabetes, according to new research.

Scientist found that even having decaffeinated coffee can still have health benefits.

Researchers at the universities of Navarre in Spain and Catania in Italy discovered a link between coffee consumption and metabolic syndrome.

Metabolic syndrome, or MetS, is a combination of diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity, which raises the risk of cardiovascular problems, heart attacks and strokes. It can affect one in four adults in the UK.

The studies suggested that drinking three to four cups of coffee per day is associated with around a 25 per cent lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes, compared to consuming none or less than two cups in 24 hours.

Thousands of newly-diagnosed cases from eight different countries were examined and showed a statistically significant positive link between coffee drinking and subsequent risk of type 2 diabetes.

Every additional cup of coffee, up to six to eight cups a day, was linked to a five to ten per cent lower risk of developing the condition, scientists claim.

Assistant professor Giuseppe Grosso from the University of Catania reviewed his own scientific papers on coffee consumption and metabolic syndrome from Polish and Italian studies.

His research suggests that polyphenols packed with antioxidants contained in coffee may be involved in preventing metabolic syndrome, 'specifically phenolic acids and flavonoids'.

Scientist found that even having decaffeinated coffee can still have health benefits such as lower the chances of getting high blood pressure or diabetes.

He also reviewed previous research that suggested that moderate coffee consumption helps reduce cardiovascular disease, cancer and type 2 diabetes.

Research also suggested coffee intake of three to five cups a day is linked to a 15 per cent reduced risk of cardiovascular disease.

Estefania Toledo, of Navarre University and Ciberobn, a Spanish biomedical centre, said the analysis showed an 'association between coffee consumption and a decreased risk of type 2 diabetes' and added that 'long-term coffee consumption is associated with a decreased risk of hypertension'.

Results from a study involving UK women suggested that flavanols and hydroxycinnamic acids were the most important polyphenols, provided by tea and coffee.

The researchers, who were independent but were commissioned by the Institute for Scientific Information on Coffee (ISIC), a body funded by coffee companies, said: 'Further research is required to clarify the associations between coffee and metabolic syndrome.'

Scientists said their findings occurred in both men and women and added that more research was needed to investigate the causes behind the link between coffee and metabolic syndrome.
